Here is a very quick initial test of using my camcorder to record my AxeFX patches monitored thru my Adam A5 studio monitors. The patches are pretty basic and range from Blackface, Vox, mid-gain Marshall tones into heavier lead tones using Mesa, Bogner and a Soldano SLO with Track Wah. This "amp" is a complete blast, it sounds amazing recorded direct but I wanted to try and capture the "in the room feel" even using modest studio monitors. The search continues for the best "real" backline cab or FRFR solution at this time... I'm out of cash for now :) My Tinman Tele partscaster was used throughout, no time to switch to my Burny LPC. Please excuse the bald spot lol!!!

  • is the 5 inch woofer enough for the axe fx?

  • @aldricsuan I play quietly at home most of the time so yes the A5's are a good fit. If I was pricing out monitors at this point specifically for use with mixing, recording AND playing the AxeFX (and I could afford it) I would shoot for the A7x. Numerous AxeFX guys are using the A7's and they compare well to much more expensive monitors from makers like Focal. They are really good imho...

  • Wow, tons of comments that I have not replied to... axefx is still top of the food chain for modelers IMHO. With firmware 10.3 he has amazing sims from the Marsha (Dave Friedman), Bogner Shiva.... Just unbelievably good. The 11 rack has an expansion pack right around the corner so that's cool too. I miss my Tinman Tele... That was a kicking guitar, super versatile. Still rocking the Adam A5s, perfect for small stuff. I did have a qsc k10 and the axefx ROCKED thru that configuration. super mobil

  • Great sound!! Could you please tell me if you used the XLR outputs from the Axe to the Adam A5's?

  • @hunterwh1980 Hi, I am using the 1/4" (unbalanced) ouput 1 left and right into my audio interface (I think this was an Echo Audio Audiofire8 at the time). I will go on record to say the XLR balanced out's sound much better (mainly because I believe they add +6dB to the signal?) and are super clean... Also going direct from the XLR out's of the AxeFX to the Adam A5's sounds just perfect, but I need stuff wired into my audio interface so I can record direct at the drop of a hat.

  • @Nauticus89 its meant to, they are studio speakers

  • Does the Axe - fx standard have a looper?

  • Hey I want to buy axe fx and krk 6 inch monitors... in order to buy that I'll have to sell my 5150 head, mesa 412, noise gate, and save 300 bucks cash... idk if it's worth it, will I get good low end and somewhat decent bedroom volume from 6 inch big studio monitors?

  • Lacks bass

  • Just wondering what is the equipment you got above AxeFX? Thanks.

  • Have you tried the TECH 21 Power Engine?
