Aftermath of Hurricane Ike Hits Northern KY, Cincinnati Ohio Wind Gusts Up To 75MPH Devastates And Lasts For Four Hours.

Homes destroyed, roofs blown off, cars smashed by trees, you name it.

People without electricity for days over 600,000 people no electric, imagine that folks!

This is/was unreal. Never in my life have I seen do much wind and debris flying for literally hours. I saw it knock FLYING BIRDS to the ground!

There were deaths, fires, State Deemed Emergency by Governor.

We are NOT by an ocean, we are no where near anything like that and this thing swooped in and "tore up jack" unreal!

  • I live near Pittsburgh and my lights also went out for 8 hours!

  • Man that storm was a MF'ER ppl were without electric here for two weeks, many roofs etc are still not repaired. Workers too inundated with work.

  • I live in Walton, i was without power for like a week... it was horribe, had to throw away everything in my freezer and frig... i hope we don't have to go through that EVER again!

  • I am sorry you went through that also :(

So many went through the hell and havoc in caused and this Winter Storm and all the Ice breaking the lines has had me more than a bit worried. I hope it does not get me, you, or anyone for that matter although it is my understanding there are many it has.

  • yea im from batavia and a tree fell and took out the power lines it was still working then duke turned it back on and it surged every electronic in my house

  • Catching up on my comments here, it is sad to read you lost all of your electronics. That sucks! So many people were affected by that Ike and who would have ever thought such a thing would come through the Ohio Valley, not I that's for sure!

  • I live in Highland Heights, and of course watching the Bengals game when that damn wind from H. Ike blew through! Over here we had clear skies! just major wind, the worse I have seen since the 1974 tornado that hit Xenia, OH. I was w/o power for 2.5 days, I was lucky.

I mean yeah, high wind warnings were posted by the w.c. but didnt see this coming that fast and do the damage that it did. Unbelieveable. At the height of the storm there were 850,000 + w/o power.

  • Gosh, Reba ~ So glad you spared major damage & were safe. Storms are nothing to fool around with anymore, this was a Bad One !!!

    Mousey-

  • And did the sky turned purple-black? Lokks like you have been hit by bombs - is this part of climat change?

  • Thank you for your post. Good job!
