  • In so many ways, it's a shame that we have pukes like Randy Schmidt who need to capitalize on Karen's misfortune & ever notice how happy he is when talking. He can take his Little Girl Blue book & shove it up his ass sideways. So much was left out of the book anyway. Anyone who puts only part of someones head on a book cover doesn't have much class anyway. To date zero proceeds from his book sales have gone to eating disorders. So defend the book if you wish. The real story wasen't in a book :-)

  • @vmuto1 I've read both the Chapman bio and Randy's. I take any bio with a grain of salt, even an autobio because ultimately only the author and God know the truth. Nevertheless, i share your love for Karen. She was amazing. Ever catch her 1973 performance on The Tonight Show on utube? Woooo! That woman was cookin!

  • It's so sad because no matter how many documentaries you've watched about them, their endings are always the same. :(

Thank you Karen for sharing your beautiful voice with us. You will never be forgotten in the years to come.

  • @chijeii very true. there's no happy way to end them.

  • I'm sorry, but Randy's book was written tastefully and carefully, and he pulled information out of people that hadn't been heard before. His book is the best out there about their story, and it was written in a way that was respectful to Karen.

  • ofcourse her family loves her, they're very hurt by that too

  • @vmuto1

I've read the bio. You need to know that these facts were based from her closest friends who saw her life. What you should have said is that not all the facts are in the book. I'm sure Randy has left out a few things but he has a general idea of what Karen's life was about. We will never know the whole story. Though, I am 100% sure you love the Carpenters like me :)

  • @vmuto1 I am a fan of your channel BTW...I am just frustrated by so many people saying that Little Girl Blue isn't covering the real story. But, he did talk to ONJ, Evelyn, her best pals...soooo...it's hard to think he didn't get the story. Do you know something we don't?

  • @vmuto1 What was the real story then? If Randy didn't cover it, and Chapman didn't who will tell the "REAL" story. I love Karen & Richard so much. I grew up listening to them and watching them on TV. I would love to know this "real story." I have heard 2 many times that pieces & parts are missing. Well, if someone knows where they are, or claim to know...then let's hear it. Otherwise people will write books & articles that apparently aren't true. So, what's the real story, I'm listening.

  • @vmuto1 What was left out of Randy Schmidt's book?

  • @cjh661 I think the ipecac quickened things. Even w/o it she was replacing nutrients from foods with laxatives and lemons. Wouldn't have survived much longer. She did gain weight but her whole system took too much of a toll already.

  • @roscoegino i know she died from cardiac arrest, but my question is do u think she still would have died if she didnt use ipecac at all?

  • The finest alto voice that I'm likely to ever hear, Karen's death was senseless, and I believe, avoidable. Godspeed to the angel of 70's soft rock...

  • That book was another version of the truth from those who actually witnessed the dynamics of the Carpenter family, Karen's struggle to find her place as an adult without her family, as well as her eating disorder, which was NOT the primary focus of the book in the first place. Look at how they blame the psychiatrist for not "making" her better! Have you even read the book at all? Karen wasn't written as some poor, sick individual. In fact, this doc is much worse in that regard.
