Every band on the planet had a version of this song--some would go for a half hour or more at a time, the verses could ger pretty racy, but the dancing could get hypnotic and sweaty--it was lots of fun as I recall. No drugs--just hormones--fun!

Love the "steps" of the guitarists--that was real common at the time. The best....Paul Revere! The guitarists were nuts in concert!

If you're wondering why the singer sounds so different from what you remember, it's because this is a different singer. This singer is Lynn Easton, the drummer famous for yelling "fuck!" (0:54) in the original recording. Jack Ely, who sang in the original, left The Kingsmen before Louie Louie became a hit and started his own band, Jack Eli & The Courtmen, with which he recorded another Louie Louie. Two and a half years earlier on November 9th, 1963 it had originally entered the Top 100; and eventually it peaked at #2 {for 6 weeks} and spent 16 weeks on the Top 100...
