(the real track for this film is "Rhubarb" by Aphex Twin)

This is my first attempt at stop-motion animation, as well as my first video ever. The non-linear plot line focuses on the psychology of a figure who's been consumed by the sensationalism and irrationality of media and society at large. It is abstract and not meant as a story, but rather a time-based snapshot of one life being directly influenced by the negativity in social customs.

The project was done for my "photo explorations" class, and the entire set was self-constructed with wood, sticks, glue, cardboard, wallpaper, clay and other materials. Please let me know what you think, all criticism is welcome.

  • really powerful. I really like this, the texture, the music, the mood - it captures the tragedy of its subject really well. I've favourited this. Hope it's ok, but done a link to it from a blog i've done on media intrusion into private lives.

    best wishes.
