  • @EdDy4RheelZ Not true at all.

Ive studied both WC and BJJ (for quite a number of years under notable instructors)

Both have their upsides and their downsides.

You shouldn't make a comment like that when you have no experience of it personally.

  • @351brock

Not a high level opponent. The kid was a 6 month newbie at the time this was shot.

A student at Instinct Wing Chun, Guangzhou city, Mainland China. You could say this was Guangzhou style WC VS Hong Kong Style WC.

  • @talon115 Amen to that!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Mider999 At my Muay Thai gym, I have friends who have black belts in both Hapkido and TKD, as they were taught together when they were young. Yes, TKD has a sports arts called WTF. TKD is not a reliable stand-up style for full contact but they provide some devastating kicking techniques if mastered and supplemented well with other styles and it's proven. However, none of what we're talking about is irrelevant to this video. I was berating Wing Chun, not Filipino, JKD, Hapkido, TKD.

  • @Mider999 As I've said here, I don't have much knowledge about Filipino Martial Arts except Eskrima and Yaw Yan, which is why I didn't berate or degrade anything about it and I respect it instead. If you look up Hapkido, they have lot of joint manipulative moves, throws, etc, which comes from Daito-ryu jiujitsu, same class as Aikido. While Aikido is more focused on defensive, Hapkido is focused towards more offensive side and have many kicks added.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ Filipino Martial Arts which is just another name for Kali/arnis/eskirma has alot of kicking, wrestling, and punching arts in it but the movement are based ont he blade, sword, and stick. I dont see how Hapkido copies aikido since hapkido has kicks and punches and aikido is suppose to be peaceful. TKD is a sports arts.

  • Bottom line.... Wing Chun sucks!!!!!

  • @EdDy4RheelZ Your right that FMA such as eskrima is weapons based but it does have empty hand and kicking systems. I dont think Hapkido can copy aikido since akido is not really suppose to be a violent art and Hapkdio is full of kicks, punches and other such nasty ditbits.

  • There will always be a better opponent...

  • @Mider999 I have no issues with Filipino Martial Arts, JKD and other arts like Hapkido. For Filipino Arts, I have no knowledge about them except Eskrima and Yaw-Yan. Eskrima is a weapon art from what I checked last time. So that's irrelevant here since we're discussing bare-handed arts. Yaw-Yan is an effective art that's similar to kickboxing. JKD is a guide to MMA philosophy. Hapkido is just copy of Aikido, which comes from Jiujitsu family, and has good, effective TKD kicks added.

  • @Mider999 He used Wing Chun just to show few things he has learned, but he went on to modify it while adding many various arts. Ip Man has never fought Japanese general, 10 Karatekas and a pro boxer. Ip Man was one of quietest man in HK who never fought against any experienced fighters. He was only a policeman at best. This doesn't validate anything about his credentials. He was only Bruce Lee's teacher during Lee's teenage years. That's all. Nothing else. He is extremely overrated.

  • @Mider999 Goggle Ging Mo Academy. My Si Fu Gwain Sue is his son on the Academy Website he has an intorduction talk thingie which may explain to you who they are :) Were situated in Perth Western Australia :)
