Homai (Maori waiata)

Maori Himene. Sung in our church quite often. Its quite funny we recorded all these songs outside on a tape deck but when played back all you could hear was the wind. We then went inside to record and the woman in charge the of the radio didnt press record so then they had to sing it for a third time lol. (Im sure they got sick of it)

Just an amazing beautiful display of waiata, the simplicity of the guitar and hearing the birds in the background. I am hawaian but It reminds me of my grandmother singing to me when I was little.

I just so love this waiata and the nannies singing, it is sung with so much wairua. It is so easy to get lost in the kupu. Beautiful - thankyou
