[20slides auto-advancing every 20sec presentation technique]
In the media today, students are characterized as fundamentally different, a net-generation of tech-savvy multi-taskers at ease with the Internet, and learning theories have arisen that are tailored to those growing up in the digital age. But does this characterization adequately explain the reality of learners today? And what do theories like Connectivism mean for more traditional models of Instructional Design? This 6min 40sec Pecha Kucha presentation addresses these tensions in considering a vision of online learning today.

(about Robert) Robert is an Instructional Designer at The University of Montana. He has presented workshops nationally and internationally on the use of technology in the classroom, and his interests and expertise are in classroom and online teaching and teacher training. Most recently, he co-developed and facilitated a six-week online training program for international educators called Enhancing Lessons with Web 2.0 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/enhancinglessons/
