3:52, is there a tilt axis (model) mode on this camera?

I bought this and can't turn off the timer. I'm pretty decent with cameras too but there's no sort of off button for it. Panasonic is not helpful either. Anyone have any ideas?

Can you turn the screen off when youve selected your settings? I dont want a big glowing screen drawing attention when shooting in the streets..
