You'll be absolutely fine as long as you stick to your rehabilition and take it seriously. I tore my miniscus and cruciate ligament playing football back in 2007. After 9 months of recovery and shedding a bit weight i had gained it was perfect, stronger than what it was! Now another year on I tore my meniscus in my left knee in the first game of the season a few weeks ago, very unlucky! Just greatful I didn't tear the acl in my left one as well, waiting on surgery now. good luck
i had miniscuss surgery about 8 month ago as soon as ur done with surgery dont ever stop working that leg out the best think i find is riding a bike ....
I have a miniscus tear and i chiped a part of my knee cap. they say that i need surgery and everything wiill be better but im scrared that if i get it ill never be able to skateboard agan and im a die hard skateboarder. DO YOU THINK ILL BE FINE?
i think i may have one , but not sure . I have cracking or popping sound on my right knee but on the side . It cracks with pain everytime i bend down to pick up soething or walking downstairs and its painful, but no swelling. ??
@Gameviewer100 btw i'm in the same boat, but without a job and insurance. I'm getting insured and taking care of it. I'm in college. Most likely if yours i like mine, you'll be off of it for a week then on crutches til your pain goes away.
@Gameviewer100 i have it too, I was sent to a specialst by my family doc. From there i got a MRI of my right knee where the tear is. He said I needed surgery. Its really a small surgery, nothing big. A small insistion where the tear is. You need to have a MRI to locate your tear. If your doc says you need surgery, go for it. I'm in the process of having my surgery. Taking the pain will take a lot out of you and make you less active. Go for it!
i have meniscus tear of doing rope skipping (jogging style) :(. and my left knee has a sharp pain if i run or walk too long. i really need help, its been 4 days now, im still young and studying. what should i do??
i play also basketball when my knee injured...we have same issue but mine just happened 3weeks.. and my doctor said that i must undergo to a physical therapy for my knee.and after the PT sessions i can jog now and also ride my bike,.. but my doctor said also that i need to rest for 3-4months so that i could be fully recovered..
Do I have another remedy beside surgery for the tear of meniscus?
