We put Strike Anywhere matches to the test vs water, wind and the one handed use test. This is one of a series of videos testing fire starting devices. See our FSDT Fire Starting Device Test video series overview video for more information.

  • It looks like you didn't mist the striker surface on the mist test like you did on the other match tests. Gives this match an unfair advantage in the mist test.

    Love this series. Great idea!

  • @nextexhale Since it is a "Strike anywhere match we didn't think it mattered where it was struck after being misted. A dry rock or your dry zipper etc. would simulate the dry striker. We will test it on a moist striker to see and post the results.

  • Those are no longer sold in the groceries here, mail order only.

  • @20351MA Although we have found them harder to find also, we can still get them in a few grocery stores here in Arizona as well as many of the local sporting goods stores.

  • First of all you guys ROCK. I am an avid hiker and camper and have learned a lot. I live in Arizona so your hikes are useful to me (Devils Chasm & Peppersauce Cave)Please keep up the good work. I hope you grow as big as Nuntnfancy.

Second, would you please test these on an anywhere surface after you mist & dunked them. That wold give them a great advantage for survival matches.

    Thanks!

  • @2brothersadventures

I see your point. I didn't think about that.

  • @2brothersadventures Ive lit one on my teeth before, only dont a couple as you have to dry your teeth and it is very challenging.

  • Cool protocol for fire device testing. Curious to see how other devices woll fare in future videos.
