Short clip playing each of my three metal snare drums, to see what they sound like one after the other.
No serious playing here...
The Chicago-badge (late '50s, rare bird) Krupa is my favorite but I have had it longer than the other two and have familiarity with it; a comfort zone.
The new Hammered Bronze I am really warming up to. Playing that 6.5 tube lugger without lowering the snare basket has me thinking I should be setting my snare drum higher than I have been.
The Ludwig Transition Badge might be best of them all however I haven't tinkered with it since it arrived a month ago. Based on a bit of playing with it I think adding new Puresound wires would be a real plus. It sounds alright now but with a drum like thi$ I can't see skimping on wires.

That's a nice score. I have never played the 6.5. I'll go out on a limb and predict you will love it, though. Ludwig had a lot of innovations in their long history, but they did snare drums real well. Even the regular Supra is great drum.
I miss the WFL classic I sold a couple of years ago.
Maybe you can post a little slip of your trans-badge down the road.
Congrats, man. It is a great feeling to get a rare bird, and a quality one at that.

Love the tone of the transitional - just got myself a 1958 Transitional WFL 6.5x14 Super 402 - can't wait to check it out!
