The Dalai Lama has imposed a ban on the worship of a 500-year-old deity called Dorje Shugden.

Across the world 4 million Buddhist Tibetans worship this particular deity. The ban has created tension and dissent amongst the one million Tibetans living in India and in May 400 monks were thrown out of monasteries because of their religious beliefs.

In the Tibetan refugee camps, Shugden worshippers have been turned away from jobs, shops and schools. Posters with the message "no Shugden followers allowed" cover hospital and shop fronts.

The tension has been fueled by the Tibetan exile government who brandish Shugden worshippers as terrorists closely linked to China.

Shugden followers in India have decided to take matters into their own hands, taking the Dalai Lama to court for religious discrimination.

  • Dalai Lama is no doubt a man of true compassion. Sadly quite a few people still wish to blind fold their eyes, and keep following Shugden without true understanding, knowledge, and investigation. Infact, Dalai Lama is telling these people not to make the same mistake He made before. Isn't this fair enough?

On top of this, lets not forget, that the prosperity we enjoy in exile, is the blessing from Dalai Lama's excellent leadership.

  • dalai lama does a great seasame street voice, too bad thats about all he's good at

  • Dalai Lama is truly a devil !

  • People are finally waking up about who Dalai Lama really is, and how his supporters blindly support him against all those who dislike him.

  • Worshiping shugden is not a budhism.Budhism don't believe in worshiping anyone for ur personal benefits.

Why blame Dalai lama?? I never heard that Dalai Lama ever forbade us for anything.

My request for shugden peoples please don't be so creazy for communist money and betray ur motherland.Any religion is no more precious than our own motherland TIBET.So don't think that shugden is more important than our motherland.

  • All of them are Noobs. Puppets of chinese government

  • @TheRedNiec

actually it is incredible that you, DharmaNightie and KacheMarzipan are all the same person working for the CCP.

  • And ... Many sadhanas of Dorje Shugden state that Dorje Shugden is the embodiment of the Guru, Yidam, and Protector. Here, Guru refers specifically to Lama Tsongkhapa. Thus, when we practise the sadhana of Dorje Shugden we are indirectly practising the Guru yoga of Je Tsongkhapa, as well as the practices of Yamantaka and Kalarupa!!!

  • Not only Dorje Shugden but his entire entourage are emanations of the enlightened mind. His chief minister, Kache Marpo, is also an enlightened Dharma protector in his own right.

Within his mandala are Setrap and Amitabha who are of course fully enlightened buddhas. It is incredible that the whole mandala & entourage are enlightened beings, and beings that are totally worth of us taking refuge in.

  • His round yellow hat represents the view of Nagarjuna, and the wisdom sword in his right hand (like the one held by Manjushri and Je Tsongkhapa) teaches us to sever ignorance, the root of samsara, with the sharp blade of Nagarjunas view. This is the essence of all the stages of the profound path of Sutra and Tantra. He rides a snow lion, symbolizing the four fearlessnesses of a Buddha.
