  • this is excellent! well done!

  • @minclLess go to reds website, then the faq section, and then look under "what resolutio choices do i have with red one" and you'll see they don't shoot anythin 6 times bigger than 1080

  • @minclLess They have scale diagrams that show 4k is about 4 times bigger than 1080 on red's website, and wikipedia.

  • @minclLess Actually I knew what the resolutions were, and I also knew that you were wrong about 4k being 4096x3072. 4k is 4096x2160. Do the math on that genius and you'll see that I was right and you were wrong. Also red refers to their camera as hd technology several times on their own website. Sometimes they like to put the word ultra in front of hd, but that's the only difference.

  • @SpanishJesus According to your logic, a 2" by 1" rectangle is bigger than a 1" by 1 mile rectangle, just because it's 2" tall? Hahaha!

  • @SpanishJesus No. And. No.

For some reason you're stupid enough to just look at the numbers 1080 and 4k, that's NOT the resolution, thus NOT the size.

The highest resolution High Definition format is 1080, or "Full HD" is 1920x1080, or 2.073.600 pixels.

The 4K cinema format is traditionally 4096x3072, or 12.582.912 pixels.

Dividing 12.582.912 by 2.073.600 will get you 6,06. Ergo, 4K is 6 times more pixels than Full HD. HD is just a consumer television format, not a cinematic format.

  • @minclLess actually that's 4 times bigger, and unless you have some new snobby terminology you invented to describe it, that's still HD technology smart ass.

  • @SpanishJesus It's a little more than "HD technology"... the RED camera can record at 4K resolution, which is SIX times bigger than 1080p! (4096x3072)

  • wow, great work! it's really impressive
