Oh the level 7 boss is a piece of piss. It's all those Class 1 Drillers that are the real challenge.

@FailedGambits - Yep. Lights cost a lot of energy, huh?

@TheChainiKhaini - I use DosBox and Rebirth. Even on my work laptop, Descent 1 and 2 run outrageously smoothly. It's stellar. I also heard of this higher-graphics version that has everything from smoke effects to a different AI, but I haven't looked into getting it... I like Rebirth.

Doesn't the flare use one energy for one shot, and a shot with the 4 lasers is one energy for two shots?

god this brings back the memories, i am 14 years old now, i remember playing this game when i was about 6-7, i was so scared, and i remember having to have my dad around when i played it, i think i only got to level 5 or so, but still, im gonna download this game now and play it, for old times sake :D

descent is the best game ever! we need descent 4!

Quality youtube post. Bravo. I remember being like 9 and loving this game but not really being mature enough to dominate it.

I went back and tried to play it a little while ago and was not able to maneuver the ship effectively. So I gave up. Again.

Though for me, half the fun is seeing how hard someone can break the game. I still maintain that Halflife 1 and 2 have some of the most ridiculous speed runs in this regard.

Actually, if you think about it it's even more absurd than Morrowind - he beat the game in a fraction of the time it takes normally and without abusing any of the serious glitches that you need to use to beat Morrowind. :P

I just did the math, and if you link all 30 level speed runs that this guy did back to back, they would be 49 minutes and 26 seconds. He beat the whole game in less than an hour. Considering I would lazily do these levels in between 30 minutes to an hour, I find that absurd. Not quite "Morrowind in 6-7 minutes" absurd, but still absurd.
