Major Taylor was passing through, handling whatever business, but stopped when he saw us. He came over and talked with us and gave me strategy tips haha! How could I say no to an Army Major! I did end up winning that game! I'll never forget him or his kindness and hospitality. RIP my friend.

Picture 15-20 guys, wearing all their possessions at the time, living in a basement together haha. Major Taylor was wonderful to us. He supplied us with some care packages for some hygiene products and MREs for food. There were some board games to pass the time (we were ordered to stay indoors due to the large amount of unexploded ordinance everywhere). I remember specifically sitting in the lobby of the building playing RISK with a few guys.

I knew Major Taylor while working as a firefighter at Camp Falcon with him in 2006. On October 10, 2006, we were attacked with mortars that hit our ammo dump and burned down or destroyed about 20% of the base. Like many others, the fire department was displaced. We ended up seeking shelter near his building and the next morning, we were invited into the gym in the basement of his building to live in and operate while we were out of a home and offices.
