Jack Barry was so sure this show would sell he already made a weeks worth for CBS. But at a last minute deal, CBS decided to give another company a 13 week shot at Spinoffs. Barry reminded CBS of his show, but they gave Carruthers a shot at a show for 13 weeks. After 26 weeks of its original premire, CBS found a show they were willing to keep, and told Jack Barry they will air more when you make more. But, CBS took 4 of the tapes to make shows, so Jack Barry, in the end decided not to bother CBS
This was suppose to replace the Jokers Wild. JB-DE were so sure this was to sell they made a week of episodes, but then the producers of Spin-Offs made a deal with CBS to "post pone" WGYN. Spinoffs lasted 13 weeks, and by then CBS had took the weeks worth of tapes and erased 4 of them for another show. They needed a show pronto, and JB-DE tried to make more episodes, but Bill Cauruthers already had tapes to go air. By then, CBS watched the pilot, and told Berry "We'll think about it"
@bpot22 thewhammy83 has the full episode. Who knows where "Pilot A" is... ;-)

The tape of the "premire" was found just recently, not in 2000. I hope CBS gives it to GSN to air.

I read on Wikipedia that it was found at the same time as the Joker's Wild 1972.

I think this was planned to replace Joker's Wild, but was passed over for Spinoffs, which by the way, does exist.
