Dean Deleo is the man! Not only because of this impressive & inspiring solo, but, because of how down to earth he is. In '06 I met him outside of an AOA show and he was the coolest dude! NO rockstar attitude involved whatsoever even tho he could get away with it! He actually hit on my girlfriend right in front of me but we all made a joke out of it! He didnt know we were 2gether tho! It was completely non-threatening 2 me! STP & Dean especially are totally cool mother truckers!!!! Love this song

@skins555 Interesting...I actually got the opportunity to meet Dean at an AoA show also - the show they did at Slim's in San Francisco. I think that was in '06. But yeah, I completely agree...REALLY cool dude. Asked him a million questions about his gear and technique - he was really cool about answering them all, and had some really encouraging words to keep playing and learning. His brother Robert is a great guy also. Definite class acts, both of them.

I finally achieved Dean's sound by using BOSS's digital delay 7 and a little distortion... but damm I have to say again:

The only overdrive Dean uses is called the SIB Varidrive. But he only uses that on the AC30 for very particular parts of particular songs.

The rest of that amazing solo tone comes from his amazing Demeter TGP-3 preamp, and VHT Classic power amp, run in stereo.

Just saw them again live two nights ago in Oakland. Another great show!
