@winskovable Safavid's were Moslems. & Shi'ite's are Moslems. Just because you try to say that they aren't, does not mean that we are not. We are Muslims. Al Azhar University, the leading center of learning for Sunnite Islam, was actually a Shia Mosque when it began. The Sunnites conquered it.

The Safavids forced Sunnis to become Shia or die, NOT other religions. They killed Sunnis that did not convert, but let others live.
Thats why Iran and other places, which were once a majority SUNNI area are now a majority SHIA area.
Unlike the Sunni empires that allowed tolerance and peace to everyone, the Safavids did not to the Sunnis!
