University Place Assisted Living Promotional Video

I'm Suzan Adam, and I've been in University Place since 1998. And I came with my husband. It was the second smartest thing we'd ever done. The first smartest was to get married, but the second smartest was to move here.
We have been here almost thirteen years now. We've loved it, we've been very happy here. It was a good, good decision.
I think one of the things that really attracts people to University Place is the fact that they are a wonderful group of people here.
The people are so friendly here, they always have been, and we've made friends here.
Everything at University Place is worth coming here for. We have all kinds of activities, we have a hospital, and office buildings, so when I need to go to the doctor, I just walk out the side door and either walk over there or I take our little cart.
The activities are really awesome because we have Houston Baptist University next door. We have a wonderful friendship with them, and their people come to us and we go to programs at their place.
Included in our monthly fee is membership in the Wellness Center, which is located on the edge of our campus. And we can go over there and take advantage of their machines and their exercise programs, and if you do not wish to go over there, why, they have a lady that comes over here.
My wife and I came here three years ago... three and a half years ago. I've never been more happy than I have since coming here. One of the nice things about this place is the ability to follow my hobbies. The trio that I play with has put on at least three concerts here over the last three years.
I have lived here for the year after it opened, which was in 1990. I have had a thoroughly wonderful life here because we have a place we can garden. It's been nice that everyone has their patio, and you'll see people drinking their morning coffee out on their patio...
We went to about six different retirement homes, and I chose University Place as my favorite, and the reason I took it; they had three of the things I really wanted, when I moved in any place -- I wanted independent living, I wanted assisted living, and I wanted full care, so that I didn't have to move again. And it was here. And then I wanted a washer and dryer for sure, those were the requirements, they were here. So then I decided I'd like to look at all the amenities... well, they are endless.
The food at University Place, that's probably the most important thing in any retirement community. The quality of the food is always good, and most of the time it's what I want to eat.
They'll drive me to church, they'll take me to the drug store twice a week, food store three times a week. And periodically to a mall, we get to go there, and if there are any attractions at the museum or the symphony, they'll try to get us there.
This kind of sounds like a commercial, but it's all the way I feel about it. I've made the right choice, and I love it. And I think if anybody's interested in moving, this is a great place.
It's just a really nice place to live. It must be or I wouldn't have stayed here for 20 years.
