One of my favorite mandolin books is a book edited by Hugo d'Alton named A variety of Mandolin Music. And one of my favorite pieces in this book is "Bouquet of Flowers" composed by Bernardo da Pace.

I have recorded the music with my ZOOM H2 recorder and added a little compression and reverb to create a fuller sound. Then I made the video with my cheap camera and tried to put it all together - hope you like the result (although it can certainly be made much, much better)

The flower fotos show some flowers in the garden of my father in law which is fantastic every year.

  • Wonderful fluid playing. I wish I was a tenth as good! May I ask what make and gauge of strings you use? Many thanks

  • @stratnut I think on this mandolin I am using Thomastik (flatwound) medium

  • I listen to your video each day.

  • @Benj888 Thanks - I am planning to play another tune by Bernardo de Pace this year! First need to learn it well!

  • What make is your mandolin?

  • @hhold This mandolin has been built by a German luthier Werner Deschler who is mainly building instruments in the region where I live, mostly for mandolin orchestra players.
