This was one of several numbers I recorded with Neville Dickie at the piano. This was a fantastic set with Neville and Danny Coots playing together on a Friday morning at the Hilton Hotel-Costa Mesa during the 8th annual Orange County Classic Jazz Festival.
On this particular tune Danny took a break while Neville worked the ivories alone.
I collected some real musical/video gems at this one venue.
Please visit Neville's website shown above for information about his upcoming performances, and his spectacular collection of 14 CD's that can be ordered on-line.

  • I know of "Hobson's Choice" but not of Hobson St.Music of this quality should have a preservation order placed upon it.How the ladies and gentlemen on these sites bring the instruments to life. And how!Still washing,Tom?

  • Nice piece

  • You mean the one I just uploaded? :)

Yes, its a very hard song to play. Kudos to this guy on the piano...

  • Gotta love Zurke.

That's actually the first time I've heard Hobson Street Blues played for real. Previously only heard it via John Roache's SID-Player arrangement on the Commodore 64 waaaaay back in the early 1980s.
