Well if you turn off everything and let it sit running idle many computers can run as long as their manufacturer claims. But in actual use the battery life will vary from one person to the next. They knew that. You're not getting 6 hours if you run the optical or the Hard Disk drive constantly. You'd be lucky to see two hours.

well this was back in 1999. i don't know if the thoughbook was even out back then but think of it like this, its almost 11 years ago
