What you need is some copper and some zinc and some water.

Copper - from Twin and Earth Wire
Zinc - from Galvanized Nails
Water - from Tap

Enjoy.

  • i ran an led for about 3 days solid off these batterys but i found that brass and magnesium is better, i got 0.68 volts from a zink nail and copper the same as in this video, but using brass and magnesium i got 1.5volts from a single cell, ive been running a clock off this for about half a month so far and its still running nice "digital"

  • Nice one, glad it worked for you and you also made a Magnesium battery. What did you scavenge the Magnesium out of?

  • Tell me how long this battery will last?

  • They last until all the copper or all the zinc has been corroded away... quite a time....

  • Oh.. that's will be my new project after "Pulse Motor"

  • Nice one... they are easy to build.....

@wolffallen same question, how many amps?

  • @wolffallen does brass and magnesium have a longer life than zinc and copper?

  • @969SobiasTokeS696 lol... how informative.

  • @elijahlucian yes

  • now here's an insteresting question,... is this possible with ocean water? cant we just turn the ocean into a huge battery? (insulated of course so we dont kill the marine life haha)
