This is from a video called "SP's Central California Mainline". I take absolutely no credit in recording these scenes. My only intent is to share it with the YouTube community.

These were all shot in the last full-year of the Southern Pacific Railroad in the Central Valley of California between Bakersfield and Sacramento. The narrator tells all. The producers did a pretty good job in identifying the motive power sets of the trains but much to the distress of SP enthusiasts they called all SD40Rs seen in the program "SD40Es", which is incorrect.

  • I didn't know trains could roll so fast through switches. Check the video by the end of minute 4.
