I was deeply stirred by this brilliant performance of one of Handel's most wonderful arias, the first time I listened to it. Afterwards, I came to the conclusion that Sandrine Piau didn't sing this aria in the right Baroque way; in other words, her rendering is a bit mozartian IMHO.

Thus, brilliant, but not perfect.

I've nothing to say except I heard all the best performer from all great women singers but since i heard this CD album Sandrine Piau at 2005 I must admit here she shock she take my breath with her brilliant perform not just that the orchestra too they engage to each other, that what i call perfect work from every way and about Roberta Invernizzi in her sing for this piece she very well but the orchestra there they struggle to be so well but if u've ear my friends then you ill hear the different.

Sandrine Piau's Opera Seria album is probably the greatest Handel opera arias album recorded. And Les Talens Lyriques and Christopher Rousset are on fire. This is Handel at its best.
