  • why is that mace there and what does it symbolise etc?

  • @TheBrataccas If a member of parliament is to pick up the mace it symbolizes that parliament is no longer performing its function of representation of the public.

  • This is what every MP should be like, true representation of his constituents and his heart in the right place, this man is no career politician!!

  • @TheBrataccas The mace is the symbolic presence of the monarch and without her the actions of Parliament are invalid and technically 'illegal' and thus it is so serious.

  • @TheBrataccas the mace symbolise the power of chambers of the parliament and of the queen this particular mace symbolise the power of the house of commons and the soverign
