Each year the Civil War Preservation Trust designates 10 most endangered Civil War battlefields. The 2009 list includes: Cedar Creek, Fort Gaines, Gettysburg, Monocacy, New Market Heights, Port Gibson, Sabine Pass, South Mountain, Spring Hill, and The Wilderness.

  • 10-year member. Great organization. Combines inspired leadership with practical deal making in a critical area of historic preservation. Huzzah.

    Military Minute

  • God bless the CWPT. These are tomorrow's green spaces! You don't have to know squat about American history to appreciate natural beauty. However, when the signage goes in, even someone just walking the dog has a chance to be informed about what has been perhaps our greatest struggle. Continue your just cause.

  • More people need to be aware of how our history is being paved over.
