  • I have a question (it's quite dumb i think) but, what makes a difference when we speak the OW in NOW and de OW in SNOW ? I now that it's not the same pronunciation but, why?

  • @marcoenrico Unfortunately, there are not any rules associated with this! English is just a crazy language in that regard.

  • The first sound does appear as a vowel in American English, unfortunately Americans started pronouncing it with an "a" sound as in "cat" rather than the "ah" sound as in father. I don't know when this transition took place, my guess is about 20 years ago, maybe some famous actress from Texas made it sound cute. But my ears are truly pained every time I hear an American who is not from the South saying words like now, town, down...and I'm American.

  • the lessons are good thanks
