Was BP sold or have partnerships with Arabian oil companies? Do they have something to do with this tragedy? Who owns BP, NOW? Why Obama doesn’t control the situation?
Martial Law should be declared worldwide to stop islamic invasions that are supported by oil revenues. Stop buying oils; depend on solar & hydrogen energies.

They broke the pipe & they don’t want to fix it properly. It is worldwide Conspiracy by terrorists to close down coal mines & oil drilling to keep the Arab oil stable worldwide. 50 % of the oil revenues of Arabia, Persia, including communist countries support terrorists.
Stop buying their oils and depend on solar and hydrogen energy. If the west continues to buy oils from these countries, terrorisms will increase & terrorists will conquer the west faster. They already did.

if the problem is pressure one could attach a huge hose onto this thing and have the oil pumped into a safe location .. I am no engineer .. but I'm quite sure there are thousands of engineers out there willing to share their ideas ..

OBVIOUSLY the well could be capped completely! BP is letting the oil flow to prevent the well structure from rupturing. The immense oil pressure could blow off the well head and the blowout preventer!

WTF? either the pressure will come out of the opening in the top-middle of the bolt array, or if there is a pipe on that hole (which wasn't explained) the pressure will be screaming out of the bottom flange. if at least 6 of the bolts had motors ready to turn the bolts imediatly, then get the remaining ones, it might work. is there more to the design that isn't shared?

This device is only meant to be a base fitting upon which some other device could be firmly attached to. The features are grossly exaggerated for illustrative and conceptual purposes. When they cut off the top of the oil well they kept mentioning that the cut was not very clean and that this was a big issue in regards to capping it. Some other folks have posted some pretty cool stuff on YouTube that could be used on top of this thing.

One thing to remember is that the oil is gushing out of there very quickly, so doing this would be like putting 2 magnets north poles together.
But all the same a good idea :) The main goal is to stop the flow, not try to continue harvesting from it. BP should worry about salvaging this well after the cleanup process is done!

If the gushing oil were an issue one could simply invert this component.
I.e. have it go over the outside of the well and allow the rings compress inwardly as opposed to outwardly. Same basic concept...only turned inside out.
