Made in 8 bit by Christen Bach Sound design by Henrik Sjørslev
I got obsessed with doing some good old fashioned 8 bit pixel animations that I haven't done since the good old Amiga days, so I downloaded a small freeware program called GraphicsGale originally designed to create animated icons, and started playing pixels around. I completely forgot how much fun 8 bit is!
Main part of the fun is the fact that the limited resolution leaves you with a way faster and more intuitive work flow. And limited animation has an old school feel to them - which further reduces your time schedule. Because of the primitive state of the program, I did miss some tools from time to time. But there is something quite charming in having to battle the tools a bit that strikes the old primitive 8 bit spirit.
Henrik that did the sound design got totally free hands, and completely blew me away with this version. Unpurposely the sound became a bit David O'reilley-esque. I decided to keep it though, because there is something amazing about emotional conversations acted out in ice-cold monotone voices.
