Boyer Mark III Timing at 1000 KM Rebuild

After 1000 km's of my top-end rebuild I thought I would check the timing. I have a Boyer Mark III electronic ignition. When I originally timed the bike with the brand new rings and pistons I only timed at 3500 RPM because I didn't want to burn out the new rings. Now that the rings have bedded in nicely (I think), I went to 5000 RPM for full advance. I was spot on. Bike runs strong. Hopefully I can get a few more weeks of riding before snowfall. When it don't kick back and break your ankle, then you know it's about right LOL. What year is your bike? Sorry if I missed that. There's a 1973 T120V for sale around here...it would be a later year than I ever had, the newest of mine was a 1969 so after that I don't know as much about. T120V means 5 speed 650 and 1973 has to be right hand shift?

Kick back just means too far advanced. Bike is 72. 73 is a good year for Bonneville. If it is stock, even better. T120V does mean 5 speed and yes, right foot shift. Thanks for watching.

Did the Rocket 3 launch today.looks slow but is actually at 120 mph.Road not good enough for a higher speed.loading soon.
