The best song from this film.

Such immortal lines, such immortal voice, such heavenly composition....sheer brilliance!

Only Mukesh can sing this song, Sahir can write

Sahir gave words to disfranchise people's cry.
Still in hope we bear all "sitam".
Sahir O Sahir !!!!

*srcI148*, a YouTube channel presented this song with it's wonderful angle. It genuinely, presented the plight of the poor, the women and the urchin, doing work for their livelihood. Thanks. Khalid Asghar, former Station Director, Radio Pakistan, Lahore. (11 March 2010)

actually this song we must listen for musical enjoyment. Not literally meaning. As entropy of universe tends to increase, it is measure of disorderness, all humans cannot satisfied at a time, we must see countries like Korea & Thailand have eradicate a lot of poverty and all are respecting i.e rich and poor!! Any way such kind of subah will never achieve!!!
The Sahir, Mukesh, Khayyam team created a masterpiece with an eloquent message for those who have eyes but can not see, or if they see , don't care. The inequities of "progress" and "development" -- of the vaunted " India shining" claims-- stare us in the face decades after this song was composed. No one can gloat over this in India's neighborhood either, for things are even worse there. Your montage of images is superb in its compelling reflection of the lyrics. Thanks,srcr148.

It is truly touching and represents people's yearning for a better life in spite of all the adversity currently faced by them. I wrote an article on this song last year because it represents our current situation so well. However, I ended the piece by saying woh subah abhi to nahin ayegi. When?
