Shooting breaks out during a hang-out event at Miami Lakes, FL

This video takes place Sunday night on Main Street - Miami Lakes, Florida. I live on the apartment complex behind the movie theater. It might sound surprising, but this area is a beautiful residential community; over the past 2 years, we've noticed a considerable increase in the amount of thugs and gang elements showing up at night to hang out. We also started hearing words of car break-ins and assaults in the area and my car was recently egged. So, what took place Sunday night, It seems like someone pulled a gun and started shooting. We heard 3 shots and then all hell broke loose. All our neighbors were outside filming as we couldn't believe what we were seeing. You can see at the end of the video a young lady disrespecting the person taking the video and showing him the middle finger. Notice, he tries to ignore her to avoid confrontation; however she continues to insult him. I apologize for the quality of the video; it was taken with a mobile phone.

I used to go to Main Street in the 90's .Had breakfast in Vie de France almost averyday and dinner/lunch at Tony Romas, the Italian Restaurant and inside the Don Shula Hotel.Back then it was very quite and trendy place to be.Never imagined it would become such a low class, hard core criminal heaven !Will never go back there again and will not recommend it to any one.

I removed my comments b/c this is all so sad. So much hatred. This is not the way things used to be there. The was the part of the South where all people were welcome. There has always been a substantial Cuban community as well as a Black community. People used to get along. I am sorry to see how much hatred has generated throughout the years. How can you not be a Lil stereotypical. The whole video I practically saw only blacks. They are asking to be made fun off. I'm Hispanic, if I saw a bunch of Spanish people I would have also said the same thing. It's crazy but it's a bit of everything to achieve their behavior. I am a black teenager & i attended Main street that night. Just because we're black doesn't mean we are "thugs and gang-bangers" i hate how you people are stereotypical . 1 gunshot was fired. the other times people ran because others were running. our entire generation is fucked, not only black people. but the people who raised us are the ones to blame . do not worry about your precious neighborhood because we are not allowed there anymore. btw, you probably deserved getting you car egged -__-

I too resided in miami lakes area. For the past couple of weeks all you see is crap going on in the area. miami gardens etc.., an older man killed $1.25 walking to work to walmart. Several months ago two kids at the mobil killed for his car which he was gladly giving up. On Christmas eve i was shopping at walmart and some guy wouldnt leave me alone asking for a dollar and then preceeded to follow ppl around in the store. sadly they were all black.
