Renshi Jason Griffiths (Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo-Jutsu) demonstrates four variations of a common balance-displacement theme and how they can be applied against an Under-Arm Bear Hug, and a Hook Punch.
Karate Kata is crammed full of techniques such as these, for those that doubt this, evidence exists in the fact that the person considered the 'father of modern karate' Master Funakoshi Gichin made reference to such techniques in his widely known publication 'Karate-do Kyohan'.
