Those who stand up for who they are, are the true heroes. Those who seek to control and bully other people are the fearful ones. Being who you are is one of the most inspirational things any person can do, to be a light to others, and it also includes artistic and sensitive people ... all people

@seadevil182 or maybe he should speak with the Catholic church... both are pretty good at shooting down gays (figuratively speaking)

Thomas Roberts and Joel Burns .... my new 2 heroes.
Thomas openly gay was abused by a priest and he made it!!!!
Joel Burns has been harassed and he made it!!!!
-
I love how Thomas Roberts acknowledged he was gay at the end too. "We can both tell people...it gets better".

Thank you, Joel. Thank you for your courage, your humanity and for the many youth you will help to live with dignity and joy.

After having lived through the suicide many years ago, of a boy I once loved
(Bobby Griffith/Prayers For Bobby), I have truly witnessed a remarkable
paradigm shift, in consciousness and attitude, occure within our culture! Mr.
Joel Burns' unforgettable address to the Ft. Worth city council, is breathtaking
evidence of that shift.

When Bobby took his life, over 27yrs ago, the mood of
the nation was far different. Ronald Reagan was President and the public
discourse was dominated by men like Jerry Fallwel, and his "Moral Majority"!
It is thrilling to see people begin to view this horrific situation as a shameful and abhorent failure, on our part as a society!
Thank you Joel Burns, I am so glad you have finally arrived!
May G-D Bless You!

"For talk like that" - what are you talking about?
Joel Burns for Congress? I do not live in the 25th District, but I'd contribute to Councilman Burns candidacy. We need heros with integrity in congress. His speech was awesome, inspiring and life-saving.

The more open we are in public, the faster the change in the public mind set will be.
Thank you John and Joel.
