  • How can I get lessons from Mr. Gedda? Is he still teaching?

  • @1ricocaruso He only teaches professional singers, and does not take any new students. Sorry 1ricocaruso!

  • How did you get to take lessons with him, is he still giving lessons?

  • @rppasqua I auditioned for him. He does not take any new students. Sorry!

  • It is so great to see singers actually doing good exercises. Gedda is simply fantastic.

Other singers who see this video- take note of the brightness of the Ah vowel in which they are doing the vocalise. Gedda's ah does not change as it goes up, but remains bright and in position, this is how to eliminate passagio and get the voice in the mask without carrying all that weight! Fantastic! I can't wait to hear more from the student!

    Happy New Year!

  • @jussi2100 Thank you SO MUCH for posting these gems!! As a professional tenor, Nicolai Gedda is my favorite and I've always admired his impeccable technique. It's clear how much of a technician he was which is clear in his crystalline voice even in his older age. Thanks for passing on this knowledge to others who would not otherwise have the chance to work with him. This scale will now be a permanent part of my warm up:-)

  • I want to learn with Mr Gedda :( I can sing I know but i don't even know much about bel canto... i'm just try to imitated what professor Gedda does

  • @jussi2100 Well that must have been quite cool, thanks for posting.

  • This should be viewed by voice teachers. Excellent teaching. Clear, kind and positive, while keeping the focus on the learning. Bravo maestro Gedda.

  • brilliant exercise
