I don't need standards... I need Menuhin and unstandardized, please.

I think one person is deaf. That is the "dislike"
-
I think Glenn Gould was a mad man

@kambizpa Why was he a figure and a legend then? Did you ever hear him in person? I did several times and it was always a memorable experience! I don't know what you mean by the world's standards and doubt if you know what you mean yourself! He was a virtuoso as a child and a great musician as he got older.
Some of today's stars. e.g. Nigel Kennedy, were inspired and mentored by him.

(Je snapt wel wat er hier fout ging. Zeer speciaal, hè Maaike?)

No smearing here, just the essence of the work. Gould in his usual minimalistic approach, Menuhin emotional, never melodramatic, as Bach can easily be.

I doubt how many times Menhuin had to tell Gould to stop singing during their rehearsal. lol. But absolutely incredible performance.

Menuhin was only a figure and a legend. His technique in interpretation do not have anything to do with the world's standards.

how do you mean? He does play them very beautifully indeed.
THIS IS LENGENDARY!!!! I am so fortunate to discover this!!! :))))

A heartbreakingly beautiful composition, played by two of the greatest musicians of our age.
