It is said to be bad becasue Bet was fighting with the main stars at the time but the fact that her next 5 flims after this were big big hits i doubt it had anyting to with her acting skills an i jsut think it was relased at the wrong time maby if it was relased after down and out it would of done good

Forget the bad rap Bette & this film got, it's vintage Miss M all the way and any Bette fan will see she does some of her best gags in this gem!

I liked this movie and Bette, she's great.
Too bad it didn't do so well, critics are jerks.
There are plenty of DVD and VHS movies of this online for under $10 including shipping.
