  • He decided as a teenager to become a pianist, and he practiced for 8 hours a day. He got it.

  • It's like he has another pair of hands o.O

  • Makes me wanna dance :)

  • Listening to Mr Nero is a delight, never knowing which way he turns. A pleasure.

  • I'm with you, ivorymike. What a genius. Nero won a Grammy award for "Mountain Greenery." I saw him perform this live (with a drummer). And growing up, I flipped when I heard him. I liked his ablum "Love Trip." A lot of his early stuff is not available on CD, though. Sad thing is, the current generation hasn't heard of him, although he backed Rod Stuart on

    "As Time Goes By."

  • What a delightful version of this Rodgers & Hart classic! I can recall the talented Mr Nero as being very popular in the 60's, appearing on lots of TV shows & putting out lots of albums. Even though his hair has turned white, he's still a handsome chap & still wears his trademark goatee after all these years. Thanks for sharing this gem with us!

  • I loved his "Piano Forte" album, As far as I know it is not available on CD. Also his "Live" album, which highlighted the score from Porgy and Bess!

  • I had a Peter Nero album from the 1960's where he played a song called: "A Room Without Windows." I just loved that piece and looked high and low for another copy, to no avail. Wish someone who has this song by Peter would post it here. Thanks for this great video.

  • This is my favorite recording by Peter Nero. Years ago (many years ago), when I thought I could play the piano, I got the sheet music for this. I could not make any sense of it, since I could not play that fast.

It is an amazing rendition of Mountain Greenery, and the best by far of any other artist.
