"rickshaw bangalore" wurde zum PANORAMA Festival am ZKM Karlsruhe vom 27.8.08 - 14.09.08 gezeigt und war Teil der Eröffnung der "2nd India Biennale", Bangalore 6.2.09

"Mit seiner aktuellen Installation setzt der Medienkünstler Christian Ziegler seine Serie interaktiver Filme fort, in denen er sich mit der Repräsentation und der Erfahrbarmachung spezifischer Charakteristika von Orten und auseinandersetzt.

Thema der erstmals der Öffentlichkeit präsentierten Arbeit »rickshaw bangalore« ist die Auslotung der zeitlichen Dimension von Orten und Ortserfahrungen: Ein Videotracking-System ermöglicht dem Besucher, durch Videomaterial wie in einem Zeit-Radar zu navigieren und Bilder aus dem Fluß der vorbeiziehender Bilder der sich täglich verändernden indische Stadt Bangalore anzuhalten. Orte und Straßen sind in dieser dynamischen Stadtlandschaft temporäre Konstrukte und keine geographischen Fixpunkte mehr."

"With rickshaw bangalore, media artist Christian Ziegler continues his series of interactive films. This interactive work explores the temporal dimension of places and of the experiencing of places: a video tracking system enables the visitor to navigate video footage like in a time radar and to immerse himself in individual pictures from the flow of passing images showing the constantly changing city of Bangalore.

"rickshaw bangalore" is about a multidue of reality experience I underwent, living in Bangalore: change is everywhere, constantly happening. Places and streets do not function as geographical points of orientation anymore, but are only temporary constructs of physical architecture and social structures."
