See the Dachshund named Seattle swim like an otter, turning 360 degrees in the water. Some may think he is an expert but he is nervous. And of course, with our obsession with political correctness, some have commented here that the doggus is being abused or have used offensive language. In reality, he is learning how to swim, and as you see in the end, he starts to swim normally.

What a cute little guy! My dachshund loves swimming. He hated the water until he was like five, then all of a sudden he started to love it. Good job getting him used to water. It'll help him if he were ever to fall in a body of water!

I always call my dachshund "lontrinha"= little otter in portuguese.

I LOVE the life jacket for my dog! Not only does she swim better but I can carry her around like a suit case! :D

i thot ur weenie dog does really well! my two reds hate the water but my choc/tan longhair loves it and did the EXACT same thing his first time in the water.... good job, Seattle! hope u continue to enjoy the water!

My doxie sinks like a stone in our pool (I never leave her unsupervised and learned quickly that we have to hold on to her the entire time)... she's just a non swimmer I guess. YOur dog is great! I have a beagle who is a good swimmer, but the doxie has just no clue! lol

my wiener dog Fender loves the water. when he goes swimming i make sure to stay close to him so he doesnt get to anxious.

@xxKARLOZERxx Contact with water isn't going to give the dog an ear infection, lol, only if it STAYS wet. Shoving cotton balls in their ears is probably more likely to cause problems xD

Thanks to Ballinforda408 for the comment. I also felt very unnerved watching this poor dog keep flopping around and trying to keep itself afloat. yikes. But. . . there will always be an "Oops" moment in an owner's life. . . I am totally in support of the Lifejacket suggestion because dachshunds don't have strong back support.
