This is really the ideal job for me. I was cut out for this. What better to ask of life than to ride the rails day and night?

If you are an Amtrak HR person reading this, please contact me! My application should be filed with you, if you posted an assistant conductor position in the past year.

I've been in the transportation and customer service industry and know what the job is about. And I still want it. I'd be likely to stay for the career.

Thank you!!!

  • Cool. Is that what you do?

I think I have the announcements down to more of a science from doing Greyhound and stuff, but if I just did it straight here, it wouldn't be that interesting.

There are service failures of course, like everywhere else; I once sat on the tracks just outside the Toledo station for several hours until a car with faulty brakes was removed. And they didn't tell us anything. Because they weren't told anything. (supposedly.) Such happens. Especially in the NE corridor.

  • How so? And how would I better simulate the job at home with few resources? I know they do a lot, but they still make stop announcements and collect tickets, they also mark the seats, usually with the help of an attendant.

  • GREAT VIDEO. Wow. for some reason this video just makes me really happy. Just goofing around or something

  • @TheMisterdood Yea that actually is what a conductor does. An engineer drives the train

  • Hey great video! Follow your dream dude! Being an Amtrak conductor is awesome. One suggestion: practice your announcements. Make them short, perfessional, and dont have a lot of "uhh" and "ahh". Great job

  • wow wtf thats not a conductors job what so ever lol
