From the album Tangents...The Tea Party Collection.

Got a letter from a messenger
I read it when it came
It said that you were wounded
You were bound and chained
You had loved and you were handled
You were poisoned, you were pained
Oh no
Oh no
You were naked, you were shamed

You could almost touch heaven
Right there in front of you
Liberty just slipped away on us
Now there's so much work to do
Oh the door that closes tightly
Is the door than can swing wide
Oh no
Oh no
Not expecting to collide

For a minute I let my guard down
Not afraid to be found out
Completely forgot, dear
What our fears were all about
Oh no
Oh no
There's no need to be without

If there's a chance I would take it
This desire I can't kill
Take my heart, please don't break it
I will crawl to your foothill

I'm frightened, but I'm coming
Please baby, please lay still
Oh no
Oh no
I'm not coming for the kill

Oh no
I'm not coming for the kill

Oh no
I'm not coming for the kill

  • naw dude. anyone who knows anything about music can clearly see that these men were enormously talented. they were experimental, progressive and at times fucking brilliant. you might not like their music, but you cannot say they are horrible. the musicianship of these guys is absolutely impeccable.

  • The song was WRITTEN by Daniel Lanois. The Tea Party covered it. There was no previous singer to Jeff Martin idiot, he formed the band.

  • These guys Rock!!!

  • @aaqilian amen

  • @redwelter2009 whoop whoop and in edmonton tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OWWW!!!! They are amazing, and Jeff Martin is the reason i play guitar! I am so happy they are back together.. I thought the world was going to end when they broke up lmao. And you are so right, those are and always will be the only members of The Tea Party!

  • @babyfaith44 Maybe your dad was in a band called the tea party but it wasn't this band, this tea party never had a member named mike ringley. The founding members are Jeff Martin, lead singer, Stuart Chatwood, bass, and Jeff Burrows, percussion. And they are now reunited and played last night in Vancouver.

  • This is a Tea Party contribution I can get behind.

  • they r brilliant! i want more from them!!!!

  • @teddycozmik what's that I hear? Is that the sound of an angst ridden teenager expressing his opinion? Oh no, sadly it isn't. See were it just your opinion, you'd have had the forethought (assuming ofcourse you're not mentally handicapped) to phrase it as "I don't like this band" or "This is not my favorite version of this song" not something as pressumptiously arrogant as thinking you had the right to call some of the greatest musicians of our time "horrible".

  • @teddycozmik What I dont understand, is y people like u go around criticizing everything. This band rocks. And thats a fact. So, go listen to REAL Music like this, or live your lonely life that u have.

  • @VictorianBeautyxx
