@GD95014 My remark was a bit more political than musical. What you wrote stands to reason. I recall reading that Gypsy people have their origins in India. Tapping is Tabla like. There seems to me to be an enormous kind of courage / optimism about the music. I'm looking for the right words to explain....

"This music" has its roots in middle eastern music and East Indian (think ragas), not the other way around -- Cheeckout Flamenco played on the Oud.

Para los que no entienden, España tuvo una guerra civil que aún hoy no está cerrada, como habrán visto por los comentarios llenos de odio. El Manitas, la Cristina Hoyos y tantos otros excelentes artistas "POPULARES" que nacieron en suleo español están comprometidos completamente con su filosofía de vida, por eso los fascistas los odian tan profundamente.
