  • Why don't they do this anymore? ITV just takes our money these days by silly competitions and voting. ITV are just obsessed with giving D list Celebs something to do.

  • Great upload. I remember that little tune very well, i was beginning to think i made it up myself!

I'm sure that is Jim White of STV "Scotsport" fame with Carole Smilie. He now presents the live Scotland games on Sky Sports

  • Looks like they borrowed You Bet's Yes/No screen to display the totals. Brucie won't be pleased.

  • @superzamo Really, Gareth Tip Top himself? Wow you'd have thought Aspel would have demanded a better quality of cover as he was in his absolute pomp around then. Aspel And Co, Give Us A Clue and Child's Play all ratings smashes, he must have been beating the girls off with a shitty stick.

  • @williamnilliam hahaha love it,also I was only 9 at the time but I seem to remember Aspel's replacement anchor while he was having a rest was Gaz Top

  • @innit27

Gorden Kaye was hit by the tree in January 1990. So is this Telethon 90 or Telethon 88?

  • I don't think they should bring them back. I thought they were patronising to disabled people.

  • No wonder Michael has bags under his eyes, 72 hours of continuous live television dressed in his tux. Also, it's presumably the reason his wife was getting teabagged by Arthur Fowler in his alotment.

  • There is a constant telethon these days of endless dross reality shittty soaps and miserable "celebs" moaning and whining how they struggle like the rest of us blah blah blah , now wheres my time machine gone?

  • A tad naff, but still LIGHT YEARS better than anything on ITV today.

This was a time when ordinary people mattered to the TV companies, now it's just a case of how far up each other's back passages celebrities can get!

  • Oh my god I so forgot it was TVS! God thats brought back memories!

  • Would have been TVS in 1990. Meridian didn't become part of the ITV Network until Jan 1993.
