Blues my naughty Sweetie gives to me - Hans Erwig &Vancouver Hot Five 1999.

It was in March 1999 that my brother Hans came to visit us in BC. He flew over from England where he lived with his family. He brought his clarinet as well and we decided to organize a little musical party where he would featured as our guest. The Vancouver Jazz club was empty that night and we invited the members of my Vancouver Hot Five to be there as well. We recorded about 12 tunes on my Sony disc recorder and here is a sample from this set. Hans is the first soloist. We had great fun. The other members that evening were Lloyd Arntzen clarinet, Dave Griggs trombone, Bill Dixon banjo, Steve Toren tuba and another guest: Roland Romain-Fisher on piano, and I'm leading the session: Bob Erwig on cornet.
Unfortunately there were no photos or film . All you get is the sound of seven enthousiastic musicians.
Dedicated to my brother Hans who hopefully still remembers that memorable evening in Vancouver.
