Nope - no where close to Doyle's stories. As a matter of FACT - this is the worse rendition of any Sherlock Holmes I've seen. Why didn't they merely "change the names to protect the innocent?" Using the name "Sherlock Holmes" does not make it a Sherlock Holmes.

The plot was good but Sherlock Holmes seemed too moody for my tastes. Though have to admit that he was not a bad actor. Admittedly, he almost didn't solve the case in time (very unlike Sherlock Holmes I think). Doctor Watson was the guy that got the information (huh?). I mean I can understand Inspector Lestrade being duped but not Mr. Holmes. Also, what's with the cigarettes? We all know he smoked a Meercham pipe. And didn't have to show the morphine he took. Thanks for sharing.

This is so underrated!

Just another actor.Far better than RDJ ( at least British ! ) but never will say " Pray, take a seat" vividly , like good old JB ! ;)

This guy was great and I am a big Holmes fan!

Minor indescrepency: photographs at the time took a long time, which meant that the subject would have to stay perfectly still for several seconds. To capture Mrs. Watson's wave so clearly would be impossible unless she held her arm in that position for some time

@raffles1121 Yes, good ear!

P.S , thanks for posting this
I still think that Rupert Evert should have portrayed Holmes in the 2009 movie instead of RDJ. The opening scenes of this film are mesmerizing. And the entire film was very good.
