You may argue with the Lord. As Christians we know already that he will win, so the argument is so that we are able to discern the truth more deeply and completely. The 'boldness' to argue strengthens our own spiritual understanding that God is never mocked, therefore we seek him in all honesty and sincerity. The devil knows all of our buttons and pushes them continually. But we are able to cover ourselves with God's supreme love. The Lord doesn't want anyone in pain.
