  • Fuck that. Full tang or nothing. I'd feel

more confident after making my own shank before a trust a cheap Mora. Give me thick steel springs and a few hours in a metal shop. Blue the finish and paracord the handle. In a survival situation you chopping on a Mora can badly cut you or another person. Fuck that.

  • @southernsecurity I have actually found Moras to be well designed and durable knives.... I guess you have never really owned one. Check out this : Mora Clipper Destruction Test Part 1 and also look at Part 2. Might make you change your mind..... And good idea on the leaf springs, i fancy using a simple lawnmower blade myself. ;)

  • i hate when people say "well why dont you use an axe" using knives are alot more fun then axes. Knives are alot more challenging.

  • @JayByrd319 and you know what ppl seem to not realize over and over is that my videos are focused more on survival WITHOUT all the prpoer tools but learning to get by on very little or nothing. I just bought a book titled Wildwood Wisdom that goes back to survival as it was long ago when we didnt have modern equipment. These "mountain men" went into the wild frontier with nothimg but a knife and very little else.

  • @JayByrd319 thanks for your comment.....

  • what about using an... axe?... maybe?

  • @Mierenegel where would the fun be in that?

  • I love my moras .. Cut like a laser . I bent my beloved mora 2000 battening some red ceder . I never thought I would . I plain forgot my heavy machete (Florida). I put a slight bent in the tip ... Nothing u could not bent back . My moras are for slicing , cutting and poking only .. Heck .. It is a featherweight knife. Easily the best knife for the price on this planet !

  • @southernsecurity moras are not for heavy work such as batoning. its really for cutting, and handy work. thery're great knives if you use them for the right job. you wouldn't use toilet paper for a job that you would normally use paper towel for, but the toilet paper will still save your ass in most conditions. ; )

  • Thats why I say time and time again moras are not a good "only" survival knife, you still need a chopper.

  • Hey, I guess you didn't hit the HANDLE with the wood did you? If you are battoning, you should hit the blade :)

  • I really love wood carving with Moras. Thanks for the video and explanation. I no longer worry about breaking my Mora.

  • Nice, how much was the glue?

  • @johnboyrebel27 EXACTLY and i bet they survived. i belive you can survive without proper gear. i bet you i can go out into the woods "like the people in that book/magizen) and can survive longer then a person with a firstaid kit a axe and all i would have is my ka-bar by my side
